Welcome to Finding Frugality, a blog devoted to helping everyday people live consciously through the application of minimalism, simplicity, and frugality!  An introduction is certainly in order - my name is Robert, and I'm an Internet consultant in central Wisconsin.  , A couple of years ago, I stumbled upon the voluntary simplicity movement quite by accident.  I was involved in a few Yahoo groups that discussed Once-A-Month Cooking (OAMC), and somebody brought up the idea of voluntary simplicity.  After some Internet research, and particularly after reading Don Aslett's (excellent) book "Clutter Be Gone!", I came to the point where I realized that when it comes to "stuff", less can really be more.

As is typical for me, as I’ve begun to discover my path I’ve found myself borrowing from the three related areas of minimalism, simplicity, and frugality. I chose “Finding Frugality” as the site name because “Finding Some Sensical Combination Of Minimalism, Simplicity & Frugality” was too long to be a workable option.  Of course I’m kidding a bit there – while I borrow principles from all areas, if I had to pick just one of those words I’d like to think it would be “frugality”….but we’ll leave that to another blog post.

I’d like to make it clear from the outset that I don’t think I have it all figured out.  I would, in fact, encourage you to avoid anybody that says they do.  People that are lifelong learners know that every time you learn the answer to one question, twenty more questions immediately spring up – each typically more complicated than the original.  Life isn’t about having all the answers; it’s about learning as much as you can on your journey.

I’ve found that journeys are more meaningful when you have somebody to share them with, so I’m inviting you to share my journey.  Whether you agree or disagree with a post, please feel free to let me know in the comments.  You can also feel free to shoot over an e-mail via my contact form (coming shortly).  I’d love to hear from you!

Until next time, enjoy your journey!
